Our Stakeholders
At D&T, we believe that building strong stakeholder partnerships is key to building a more sustainable group and future.

We aim to create shared value from our operations through identifying community and business benefits simultaneously for all our stakeholders.

Our journey will not only aim to comprehensively manage our business risks but to also meet the expectations of our key stakeholders:
-
Our customers & clients – throughout over 8 subsidiaries and associates, we will make every effort to satisfy our customer & client requirements around our service and product quality, value, and sustainability.
-
Our employees – we will employ over 1 305 talent across our companies, and will work towards being leading employer to enable well-being through investment in skills, learning opportunities, and conducive working environments.
-
Our suppliers – we will source goods and use the services of many of direct and indirect suppliers. We will strive to provide favourable terms and support their development in a long-term and sustainable way.
-
Our communities – we will operate in South Africa, but serve many other African communities, through the University of Eastern Cape. We will appreciate the need to be meaningfully involved in community upliftment initiatives in the areas within which we operate.
-
Our shareholders – as a private company, we will have shareholders in South Africa and abroad, ranging from major institutions to individuals.
-
Our debt funders – are a source of capital and we will ensure that the Group is adequately funded to meet its financial obligations and business objectives while managing the related risks.

We will also engage and partner with a range of government departments, non-governmental organisations, media, academic and industry bodies, and recognise the importance of this support and feedback as part of our long-term business sustainability.
